Custom fabricated steel security cages for condensers, package units, mini split condensers, air handlers, and exposed HVAC equipment.
- Built to unit specifications or released dimensions, with typical 2" clearance around the equipment for airflow and service access.
- Standard construction uses 1-1/2" steel angle frame with 3/4" #13 expanded metal infill, mounting plates, and lock boxes.
- Usually built as a removable cage assembly; access panels or doors can be fabricated when required.

Construction Standard

- Unit make/model or released unit dimensions, including width, depth, height, and service clearance requirements.
- Pad or slab dimensions, mounting surface, line-set location, electrical disconnect location, and required 6" x 6" line-set opening or alternate layout.
- Cage style: full removable cage, access panels, doors, lock boxes, mounting plates, and expanded metal requirements.
- Finish color, powder coating requirement, quantity, piece marks, and shipping or handling requirements.
- Field photos, sketches, or verified dimensions showing obstructions, wall clearances, and installation conditions.
Not Included Unless Quoted
- Installation, anchoring, field drilling, field welding, equipment relocation, concrete work, or site modifications.
- Padlocks, anchors, fasteners, mounting hardware, security rating, permits, inspections, AHJ approval, or listed-system certification.
- Field measuring, equipment warranty acceptance, airflow approval, service access approval, or rework from changed release dimensions unless quoted.
Scope & Responsibility
Code note: HVAC security cages may be governed by equipment clearances, service access requirements, airflow requirements, project specifications, local code, property requirements, and AHJ direction. Empire fabricates cages to released dimensions and quoted scope; final equipment clearance, ventilation, service access, anchorage, installation method, security requirement, and field acceptance remain the responsibility of others unless expressly included.
